25 Halloween Treats That Aren’t Candy
When my daughter was two years old, I took her out to Trick-or-Treat for the first time in our new Orlando neighborhood. I thought it was so awesome that many homes offered trick or treaters non-candy options.
I was VERY surprised that my daughter chose toys over candy when we went to homes that offered either option. Even after we got home, she had much more interest in the toys she was given than the candy.
The following year I decided to get half candy, half non candy options to pass out at our home for Halloween. And wouldn’t you know it, the non-candy options ran out long before the candy did!
There are many reasons why children may not be able to have candy. I love making holidays as inclusive as possible.
Here are some options you can give out instead of candy this Halloween:
2. Spider Rings
3. Sensory Worms (Every child I know is OBSESSED with these!)
4. Sticky Hands
5. Mini Bubbles
7. Stickers
10. Toy Cars
11. Glow Sticks
12. Bouncy Balls
13. Keychains
14. Fidget Spinners
15. Finger Skateboards
16. Mochi Squishy Toys
17. Wind Up Toys
18. Plastic Bugs
19. Plastic Vampire Teeth
20. Stampers
21. Pop Fidgets
22. Mini Pretzels
23. Pencils + Erasers With Halloween Themed Print
24. Slap Bracelets
25. Mini Slinkies
Many of these items can be found at your local dollar store, Target, or on Amazon. I’ve linked some of the items that I’ve bought in the past.
*****Another friendly piece of advice: I try to avoid toys with button batteries if I can help it. They can be very dangerous if a child swallows them. I also try to have a few options for kids who are too young for small pieces or toys. *****
Be safe. Have fun. Happy Halloween!
